The hospital's Board of Directors appoints up to three deputy directors from among the members of the Board of Directors for a period of three years at the suggestion of the Board of Directors. The Medical Director, Deputy Directors and Managing Director form the Executive Board. The Managing Director is appointed by the Medical Director of the CCCU and supports him and his deputies in the performance of his duties and is responsible for administration, quality management, the outreach programme, interaction with patient support groups and public relations, among other things.
The Executive Board is the governing body of the CCCU. It pursues the goals and tasks of the CCCU.

Members of the CCCU are the facilities of the University Hospital specialising in clinical oncology. Members of the CCCU can also be institutions of the Faculty of Medicine or the University if they have a focus on tumour research, as well as cooperation partners (co-opted members). The cooperation partners are hospital departments, other care and hospice facilities or doctors in private practice if they are involved in the direct or indirect care of tumour patients or have a focus on tumour research. Collaboration with external cooperation partners is regulated by a cooperation agreement.
