The Department of Trauma, Hand, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is the second oldest Department of Trauma Surgery in Germany. It was founded in 1973. Since then, the Department of Trauma Surgery has been treating injuries and their consequences at the highest level. All of the highly modern medical departments in the rest of the hospital are available for comprehensive patient care. The clinic is authorised by the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) for the treatment of severe injuries. With just under 100 beds, the Trauma Surgery Clinic offers a wide range of surgical procedures. This includes both outpatient and inpatient treatment of injuries to the extremities and joints, spine, pelvis, hand and soft tissue, as well as all secondary conditions resulting from injuries.
