Current information
Dear patients, dear referring physicians,
Please understand that an outpatient examination - which is only in rare cases a short, purely clinical examination - with all examinations and ensuring simultaneous treatment of all emergencies that arise, can take over 4 hours in individual cases.
It is not in our interest to keep you waiting, and as a team we will do our utmost to complete your examination quickly and answer your questions as soon as possible.
Further information and the current daily regulations at Ulm University Hospitalcan be found here.
Please understand that there may be repeated postponements of appointments already made for patients with rescheduled examination and treatment appointments. If this affects you as a patient, you will be informed by us and will receive a new appointment as soon as regular care can be resumed.
Ophthalmological emergencies include chemical burns, foreign bodies, eye injuries, retinal detachment, glaucoma, acute problems following eye surgery, severe inflammation, corneal inflammation, any pain and sudden deterioration in vision. We advise monocular patients to visit our clinic as soon as possible in the event of any illnesses or complaints.
Together with our partners, we have also launched the first university-basedONLINE consultationwhich can still be used.
If you have contracted coronavirus yourself or have recently had contact with a patient who has been proven to be infected, please inform us in advance by telephone or discuss this with the medical staff at the eye clinic.
If you have any doubts as to whether an emergency presentation is necessary in your case, we offer advice in the current situation via our medical hotline (available on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.): 0731 500-59180.
We are also available for enquiries by e-mail: service.augenklinik@uniklinik-ulm.de.
