Stay on the KK2
The general paediatrics ward treats over 2,500 patients a year from the entire spectrum of paediatric diseases from infancy to adolescence.
The ward has 28 beds. The modern rooms are spacious twin rooms with shower/toilet and some with a children's bath. We provide a bed for an accompanying person to stay overnight. Older children have their own television right next to the patient's bed.
You can reach us with your concerns at two support points in the centre of the ward. Admission consultations, blood tests and other examinations take place in 2 examination rooms. The nursing team will advise you on questions and uncertainties and support you in dealing with your child's illness in the best possible way.
There is a parents' kitchen on the ward with a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, tea/drink trolley, television and seating and eating facilities. In the centrally located playroom, our nursery teachers are available Monday - Friday with craft, colouring and play activities. Once a week there is a baking day, children's church and a visit from the clinic clowns. The table football table is a favourite diversion for young and old.
Patients of all ages with general paediatric diseases are treated:
Endocrinology and diabetology
neurology
Paediatric nephrology / urology
Ear, nose and throat medicine
Ophthalmology
Infectiology
Psychosomatics
We work closely with the psychological service, physiotherapy, social counselling service, nutritional counselling and teachers from the hospital school(more information on this under patient services). We also co-operate with the clinic's aftercare team and outpatient care services.
There are no fixed visiting times, i.e. parents can visit their child at any time. However, in the interests of the children's recovery, we ask that they respect the midday rest period. Experience has shown that it is also stressful for the children if they have several visitors at the same time. For reasons of infection, visiting children under the age of 14 are not allowed on the ward.
