Do you want to have children? Then you've come to the right place - in our fertility centre you will receive individual advice, diagnostics and treatment recommendations.

We take time for you and your desire to have children. At the UniFee Fertility Centre, we offer you state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment based on the latest scientific findings. We save you unnecessary journeys by allowing you to carry out all diagnostic and therapeutic steps within the University Hospital Ulm. This usually results in a familiar relationship between you and us and we can create an individualised plan for you.

We offer hormone analyses, specialised sonography (ultrasound) or a fertility check. We can perform uterine endoscopies on an outpatient basis or check the patency of the fallopian tubes during a minimally invasive procedure. We produce spermiograms in our laboratory and can obtain sperm directly from the testicles or epididymis in close cooperation with the urology department at the University Hospital.

We offer you customised treatment to fulfil your desire to have children:
    • Cycle monitoring
    • insemination
    • Artificial insemination using IVF and ICSI
    • Natural cycle IVF
    • Blastocyst transfer
    • Freezing of fertilised eggs - cryopreservation
    • Freezing of unfertilised eggs - social freezing
    • Preserving fertility before chemotherapy or radiotherapy - FertiProtekt
    • Endometrial scratching

    Treatment options & treatment costs

As a university centre, our UniFee Fertility Centre can offer all treatments from a single source - saving you unnecessary journeys. Low-dose hormone therapy is often sufficient to fulfil your desire to have children.

If hormone therapy does not lead to the desired success, we will provide you with individualised therapy with all modern fertility treatment options - from insemination (IUI) and artificial insemination (IVF, possibly combined with ICSI) to fertility surgery with as little scarring as possible. In the case of fibroids, endometriosis, unclear fallopian tube patency, adhesions and changes within the uterus, we can achieve good results with surgical treatment.

Unfulfilled desire to have children - why doesn't it work?

Involuntary childlessness is when a pregnancy has not occurred after about a year without contraception. The reasons for this can lie with both partners. In women, the main causes are blocked fallopian tubes, hormonal imbalances or endometriosis. In men, the quality of the sperm cells is decisive for the onset of pregnancy. Occasionally, no reasons for infertility can be found in either the woman or the man. This is referred to as idiopathic infertility.

    The first appointment

In order to make the most of your first appointment with our doctors, we have adapted our procedure. We now plan your first appointment so that we only take blood for a hormone analysis from the woman on that day (ideally this appointment is at the same time as your menstrual period) and plan a spermiogram analysis for the man.

We would be pleased if you could print out and complete the following questionnaire and consent form and bring them with you to your first appointment with us. If you have already undergone examinations or treatments, please also bring the results or doctor's letters with you to your first appointment.

At your second appointment, our doctors will take a detailed medical history, usually perform a vaginal ultrasound scan on the woman and discuss the results of the examination with you. This saves you more waiting time and allows us to draw up a personalised treatment plan with you.

After the first appointment - What happens next?

Once we have the results of the hormone analysis and the sperm analysis, we will work with you to create an individualised plan to fulfil your desire to have children.

In some cases, further examinations may be necessary before planning fertility treatment:

We offer all methods in our University Women's Clinic - everything from a single source - thus saving you unnecessary journeys or examinations.

    Appointments during fertility treatment

As the ultrasound examinations depend on your individual cycle, you will receive prompt appointments at short notice (all year round, five days a week). Please understand that your preferred doctor or the same doctor will not always carry out the examinations. We discuss all examinations as a team and guarantee a regular exchange of information so that no information is lost.

These short-term appointments are usually daily from 07.30 to 09.30 and are very short (5 to 15 minutes). If you would like a more detailed appointment or would like to speak to a specific doctor, please ask specifically. Our team will of course endeavour to make these appointments possible for you.

I only want a fertility check - is this possible?

A fertility check is the assessment of the ovarian reserve (estimation of the approximate quantity of eggs in the ovary). Determining the AMH value (as a measure of the ovarian reserve) is important for this. As part of the fertility check, we also offer you ultrasound diagnostics, a detailed medical history and individual counselling. You can make an appointment with us at any time.
