The gynaecological outpatient clinic at the Women's Clinic is often the first point of contact for our patients. As an emergency outpatient clinic, it is staffed around the clock so that we can provide emergency gynaecological care at any time. It is also the first point of contact if your gynaecologist recommends an additional examination or clarification. Your gynaecologist will therefore usually refer you to our gynaecological outpatient clinic for further diagnostics and treatment planning. We treat patients with benign or malignant changes in the female genital tract as well as complex or treatment-resistant gynaecological diseases.
If you have specific questions, you will be referred to one of our clinic's specialised consultation hours as part of your further care. Our top priority is to provide you with the best possible care, specially adapted to your clinical picture.
As we also treat emergencies in addition to regular gynaecological consultations, there may sometimes be long waiting times. We apologise for this. You can be sure that we will take plenty of time for you and your individual complaints.

In our private consultation, gynaecological diseases are treated by the Director of the Women's Clinic, Prof. Dr Wolfgang Janni, or his deputies. The consultation focuses in particular on surgical and medical treatment of benign and malignant gynaecological diseases. It is important to us to advise you individually, competently and in a pleasant atmosphere. You are also welcome to come to the private consultation for a second opinion.
Prof. Dr Wolfgang Janni is a nationally and internationally recognised expert in the field of gynaecology, with a particular focus on senology (diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases) and gynaecological oncology. As a board member of the Association of Gynaecological Oncology (AGO), spokesman for the Breast Organ Commission and head of international study groups, he has a high level of expertise, particularly with regard to new, innovative treatment strategies.
When you visit the private consultation, you can expect a detailed discussion about the reason for your visit, your medical history and a clinical examination, usually including an ultrasound scan. Depending on the underlying disease, further modern examination methods will complete the diagnostic measures if necessary.
In the case of malignant diseases, your case will be presented at one of our interdisciplinary tumour conferences and discussed by experts from various specialist disciplines in order to determine the best treatment for you based on the latest research. We take plenty of time to discuss the treatment recommendation and the next steps with you in detail at a follow-up appointment.

Our daily breast consultation is the first port of call for women and men with suspected benign or malignant changes in the breast. You can also come to us for a consultation and further treatment planning if you already have breast disease. If you would like a second opinion, our experts will also be happy to help you.
We can quickly clarify any changes in the breast or abnormal findings. As part of the initial consultation, we will carry out a palpation and ultrasound examination of the breast in addition to a detailed discussion. In all cases, we document the breast using photography. In the case of abnormal findings, a sample (biopsy) can be taken immediately after clarification. Further biopsies, e.g. under mammography or MRI control, can be organised for you by our radiology colleagues if required.
For findings with a completed or planned biopsy, second opinions or patients with malignant diseases, a presentation is then made in our interdisciplinary tumour conference. At the Breast Centre, we then discuss the treatment recommendation from the tumour conference with you in detail and plan all further steps together.
Routine ultrasound checks, e.g. as part of follow-up care or preventive care, do not take place during our consultation hours. Please make an appointment with your gynaecologist for this.

In addition to a detailed discussion, we will carry out a gynaecological examination including ultrasound. In certain situations, further examinations may be necessary (e.g. computer tomography). You are welcome to bring your partner or a relative with you to this initial consultation for support.
Once all the necessary examinations have been carried out, we will discuss the "case" together with other specialist colleagues in our interdisciplinary tumour conference and recommend the best treatment for you based on the latest research. A serious illness can have an impact on a pregnancy. These include, for example, a maternal heart or lung disease, a rheumatic disease or many more. Even if significant complications have occurred in a previous pregnancy, this will affect a subsequent pregnancy. Pregnancy-related illnesses can also occur at any time during pregnancy.
In these cases, specialised advice and, if necessary, co-care is important - often even before pregnancy. This requires a lot of time and expertise, and this is guaranteed in this consultation.
The consultation is open to patients with statutory health insurance and private patients.
