Laparoscopy and chromopertubation
A laparoscopy to check the patency of the fallopian tubes is often used for diagnostics in fertility therapy, as other possible diseases such as endometriosis can also be recognised here. The costs of laparoscopy are usually covered by health insurance.
During a laparoscopy, a catheter is used to inject blue fluid through the uterus into the fallopian tubes and then into the abdominal cavity. The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic, but is often performed on an outpatient basis, i.e. you can leave the clinic on the evening of the procedure.
