Founded in 2009, the state-approved training centre for behavioural therapy focuses on the psychotherapy of children, adolescents and families.

The training is aimed at psychologists, educationalists and social pedagogues who would like to become astate-approved child and adolescent psychotherapist through modern psychotherapeutic training with a focus on behavioural therapy.

Furthermore, the AZVT offers doctors the opportunity to complete the special psychotherapy part required as part of their further training to become a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy (VT) at the AZVT.

Last but not least, licensed psychological psychotherapists or psychological psychotherapists in advanced training can complete a supplementary qualification in child and adolescent psychotherapy (VT) at the AZVT.

Due to its affiliation with Ulm University Hospital, training and further training is integrated from a single source and is carried out in close cooperation with the clinic and the activities of theChild and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Behavioural Medicine Section.

The AZVT pursues the goal of interdisciplinary cooperation between different professional groups and complementary areas of care (e.g. child and youth welfare). It also emphasises the close connection between scientific research and practice.

By focusing on the modern concept of evidence-based psychotherapy and being open to new developments while at the same time being anchored in the psychotherapeutic tradition , the AZVT achieves a high standard of training and further education. In order to maintain this standard, the transparency and quality assurance of training and further education also play an important role for the AZVT.
