As a DOSB-licensed examination centre, we are a supra-regional partner of Olympic competitive sport in Germany and its member associations. We are available to our numerous co-operation partners for all sports medicine and sports science issues relating to PERFORMANCE, e.g. performance diagnostics or athlete monitoring as part of stress and regeneration management.

In addition, we help regional professional clubs and their junior performance centres in particular to create a care structure that enables top sporting performance.

We offer the entire spectrum for assessing the performance of the cardiovascular system, respiratory organs and metabolism - from conventional exercise testing on the treadmill, bicycle or rowing ergometer - with or without lactate determination, to spiroergometry. A hand-crank ergometer is also available.

In addition, laboratory tests of blood, saliva and urine can provide further information.

In addition to preventive sports medical examinations, we can also offer numerous performance diagnostic procedures as so-called field tests - which has always been one of our core competences.

We also offer a variety of methods for assessing mobility, postural control, strength, speed and agility.

In addition to the respective gold standard such as isokinetic force diagnostics, force plates with digital posturography and light barrier systems, we also like to use mobile force measurement devices and microtechnological wearables with intelligent software solutions for data analysis and decision support. Examples of this include surface electromyography to assess the connection between the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system or sensor-supported shoe insoles for analysing gait, running and jumping.

Our sports scientists and physiotherapists work with you to develop personalised therapy and training plans that are tailored to your current state of health and your needs. Our department offers numerous training options for all the main forms of motor activity (endurance, strength, coordination, flexibility and speed) to help you learn the right technique and quality of movement when carrying out your training exercises so that you can train safely and purposefully wherever you are. In consultation with the medical staff, we can also use digital health applications (DiGAs) to support your therapy.

Our many years of experience in endurance sports will support you in planning and managing your training!

We are the medical partner of 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 Footballwhich sensationally achieved promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in the 2022/23 season at literally the last second. Office Management

As a university institution, we are constantly endeavouring to improve performance diagnostics for athletes and other sportspeople. One of our research focuses is therefore in this area. We pay particular attention to junior competitive sport, as a serious injury in this phase can jeopardise a career.

We are increasingly focussing on sport-specific tests and screenings with mobile microtechnologies in order to master the transfer from the laboratory to the "real" world of sport and offer real added value for practice.

In addition, we are working in an interdisciplinary team on athlete monitoring, the systematic recording of data on external load and internal load, fatigue and recovery, subjective well-being and readiness for the next sporting exertion. Various objective and subjective methods such as tracking with microtechnological wearables or video-based solutions, heart rate-based methods, biomarkers, psychometric instruments (questionnaires) and motor tests are used for this purpose.

These findings are intended to help training teams in elite sport to optimise stress and regeneration management in order to increase/maintain athletic performance and avoid injuries, overload damage and other undesirable adaptation reactions such as overtraining syndrome.

For sports organisations/sports clubs/individual athletes:

If you are interested in a cooperation, please contact Dr Alexander-Stephan Henze directly!

For students:

If you are interested in writing a Bachelor's, Master's or doctoral thesis, please contact Ms Fink first with your documents (letter of motivation, CV, certificates of achievement)!
