TESE (testicular sperm extraction) for the desire to have children

If no sperm is found in the ejaculate, it is sometimes possible to obtain sperm cells from the testicular tissue. To do this, a small tissue sample is taken from the testicles in a short operation at a urology practice or clinic. If sperm can be found in it, it can be used for ICSI treatment.

The sperm or testicular tissue samples can also be frozen for later treatment cycles (cryopreservation).
