The Institute for Geriatric Research (IFGF) at Ulm University Hospital is the centre for research in geriatric medicine. Our focus is on epidemiological and complex implementation studies for urgent challenges in geriatrics, such as polypharmacy, delirium and falls. We are primarily concerned with people in old age (geriatrics), but also cooperate in projects on ageing research (molecular and psychologically-orientated gerontology).
Our team consists of doctors, epidemiologists, statisticians, study assistants, sports scientists and physiotherapists, medical documentarians and the secretariat. We are happy to supervise motivated doctoral students and Master's theses with great dedication.

One of our main objectives is to develop targeted and effective management of older people through care structures. In doing so, we also focus on the latest technical developments, digital everyday helpers and artificial intelligence.
We are rated very highly in teaching every year and have already been recognised as the best PJ clinic. We want to show you that modern geriatrics can make a difference in teaching, research and medicine.

We firmly believe in interdisciplinary work and intensive exchange with colleagues from other specialist disciplines, also as part of the Ulm/Alb-Danube Geriatric Centre. Become a part of our work and navigate further on our website to the latest developments and studies.
