The Department of Urology and Paediatric Urology at Ulm University Hospital is involved in several interdisciplinary centres.
The Prostate Cancer Centre
The Ulm Prostate Cancer Centre offers you the possibility of optimal, individually tailored therapy and is made up of a team of proven experts in urology, radiotherapy, oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology - as well as numerous urological practices.
Comprehensive Cancer Centre - CCCU
By bringing together all oncology clinics, expertise in diagnostics and treatment is pooled for the benefit of patients suffering from urological tumours.
By using new molecular genetic and pathological methods for the precise diagnosis of different tumour types, we offer our patients who suffer from advanced cancer and for whom there are no approved treatment options access to individual, targeted tumour treatment.
Tumour sequencing is used to determine the individual characteristics of the tumour, which are then used to enable targeted and therefore more effective cancer treatment. For this purpose, an interdisciplinary tumour conference is held after prior examination by the attending physician. Tumour sequencing is carried out on tumour tissue obtained during an earlier procedure or through an additional biopsy. The results of this molecular characterisation of the tumour are then analysed in the Molecular Tumour Board of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm (CCCU). Subsequently, it is examined whether treatment of the tumour with appropriately effective, targeted drugs appears to make sense. The decision of the Molecular Tumour Board can serve as the basis for submitting an application to the patient's health insurance company for the costs of the therapy to be covered in the case of non-approved therapies. We will support you in this process
The Continence and Pelvic Floor Centre
Involuntary leakage of urine or faeces and prolapse problems are among the most common diseases of our time, and both men and women can be affected by urinary incontinence. Although the number of people affected is high, these common diseases are still a taboo subject.
In our interdisciplinary, university continence and pelvic floor centre, we offer modern examination methods and a wide range of treatment procedures thanks to close cooperation between the relevant specialists at the university hospital.
Fertility and Hormone Centre
In cooperation with the fertility clinic, we want to help you better understand the causes and treatment options for involuntary childlessness. We get to the bottom of the causes of infertility and work with you to decide on the best therapeutic approach. Our treatment methods are based on the latest medical knowledge.
