The Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy I is a cooperation clinic of Ulm University Hospital with external sponsorship. This means that patient care is provided by the clinic's external sponsor, the Centre for Psychiatry South Württemberg, and the clinic is part of the Mannheim - Heidelberg - Ulm site of the German Centre for Mental Health (DZPG).

The Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy I at the University of Ulm (Head: Prof. Dr Iris Tatjana Graef-Calliess) in the Weissenau Clinic of the Centre for Psychiatry South Württemberg includes the Depression and Trauma, General Psychiatry Ravensburg, General Psychiatry Wangen, General Psychiatry Friedrichshafen, Addiction and Geriatric Psychiatry departments.
Clinic II in Weissenau (Clinic for Psychosomatics, Neurology and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) (Head: Prof. Dr Juan Valdes-Stauber) includes the Departments of Psychosomatics in Ravensburg and Friedrichshafen as well as the Departments of Neurology, Epileptology and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
In total, the clinics at the Ravensburg, Weissenau, Friedrichshafen and Wangen i. A. sites have 356 inpatient and 80 day-care treatment places at 5 day clinics.
There is also a forensic psychiatric clinic (Medical Director: Dr Roswita Hietel-Weniger) with 120 inpatient treatment places and a forensic psychiatric outpatient clinic.
