Child protection group at the University Clinic for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine Ulm
In cases of suspected child abuse and/or neglect, the child protection group supports the treating doctors as a multi-professional team in order to confirm or rule out a risk to the child's welfare. The specific individual case is discussed in detail in case conferences and the next steps are determined, if necessary together with the responsible youth welfare office.
The child protection group iscertified by the German Society for Child Protection in Medicine (DGKiM) and works in accordance with the DGKiM standards(guidelines).
If a child's welfare is suspected to be at risk, you can contact the emergency department of the Clinic for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Tel. 0731 - 500 57363) day and night. In less urgent cases, you can contact us at short notice by email on weekdays(kinderschutzgruppe.klinik@uniklinik-ulm.de).
We will be happy to send you the relevant anamnesis and documentation forms electronically on request.
There is an uncomplicated possibility of confidential co-assessment of findings and counselling via the Violence Victims' Outpatient Clinic of the Institute of Forensic Medicine Ulm(https://www.uniklinik-ulm.de/rechtsmedizin/gewaltopferambulanz.html).
