At the beginning of July 2017, the university outpatient clinic for surgical disciplines and the anaesthesia consultation moved into a new, modern area. This is located on level 2 (level of the main entrance) in the New Surgery building.

For elective patients, i.e. patients with an appointment, recognised experts offer around 25 different consultation hours and specialist outpatient clinics for surgically relevant clinical pictures. Patients with hand or foot injuries, vascular changes or heart disease, for example, are treated here on an outpatient basis and advised on possible surgical procedures. Complex diagnostics for rare diseases are also carried out in the university outpatient clinic. Over 50,000 patients are treated here every year.

Patients who come to the university outpatient clinics of the surgical clinics, urology clinic or anaesthesia consultation hours are registered using a ticket and patient guidance system . Every patient receives a so-called patient consultation number at the start of their visit. This will accompany you during your entire visit to the university outpatient clinic.

For administrative registration, please take a number (= your patient consultation number) from the corresponding machine (ticket machine) when you arrive. This is located in front of the waiting area and is labelled accordingly.
Then take a seat in the waiting area and look out for your number on the red display board directly above the registration desk. As soon as your number is displayed, go to the relevant registration desk where you will be registered.
Please have all the necessary documents ready (e.g. electronic insurance card, referral slip, federal medication plan, COVID vaccination certificates, findings and X-ray images from previous visits to the doctor or doctor's letters). Once you have completed your registration, please take a seat in the waiting area.

You will be called to the treatment cubicle via the blue monitors to the left and right of the waiting area. When it is your turn for treatment, the number initially assigned to you will appear on these monitors, as well as a message indicating whether you should go to Entrance A or Entrance B, from where you can access the treatment room.
