Cardiological outpatient clinic

Despite modern examination and treatment methods, the need for a cardiological check-up or clarification remains high. According to the German Heart Foundation, heart disease remains the most common cause of death, accounting for almost a third of all deaths. This consultation is used to diagnose cardiac diseases at an early stage and treat them appropriately. Using modern ultrasound diagnostics, performance diagnostics and heart rhythm diagnostics, diseases or abnormalities can be diagnosed and further treatment can be initiated.

The cardiology outpatient clinic is available to all our cardiology patients as pre-inpatients, post-inpatients and for follow-up. Referrals can be made via your practising colleague.

Our range of services:
- Consultation and planning of cardiac catheter examinations
- Consultation and planning of heart valve interventions
- Consultation and planning of electrophysiological interventions
- Consultation and acceptance of genetic cardiac diagnostics - Evaluation and treatment of cardiac risk factorsCounselling and acceptance of genetic cardiac diagnostics
- Evaluation and treatment of cardiac risk factors
- Follow-up care of patients after inpatient interventions

Please bring a valid referral slip from your doctor in private practice and all relevant previous findings (doctor's letters, ECGs, long-term ECGs, laboratory findings) with you to the agreed appointment.

It is particularly important for us to obtain a detailed medical history. You will be able to describe your symptoms in a consultation with the relevant doctor in the cardiology outpatient clinic and the previous findings you have brought with you will be analysed. Further examinations may be necessary in order to recognise which cardiac disease is involved. If the consultation and the available examination results indicate the need for drug therapy or invasive therapy, we will provide you with comprehensive information about these therapies.

If your treating internist or cardiologist has already diagnosed your cardiac arrhythmia, you will only need to come to our cardiology outpatient clinic briefly to prepare for your inpatient stay (information, blood sample if necessary) so that we can ensure that your inpatient stay runs smoothly.

In addition to the diagnosis, we offer further examination methods in our outpatient clinic:
- Echocardiography (transthoracic, transoesophageal)
- Resting ECG, exercise ECG
- Sonography of the vessels supplying the brain
- Lung function
- Spiroergometry
- Tilt table examinationsTilt table examinations
- Laboratory diagnostics including genetic analyses (in cooperation with the human genetics department)
