The Department of Internal Medicine I has a total of 6 wards in the Centre for Internal Medicine at the Oberer Eselsberg Clinics. For organisational questions about your stay and to make an appointment, please contact our occupancy management team. The senior consultant on duty will be happy to answer any specialist questions from referring doctors. Emergency admission station (NAS)
Internal Medicine I (Medical Director: Prof. Dr. med. T. Seufferlein) is the organisational head of the joint emergency admission ward of the Department of Internal Medicine I and the Department of Internal Medicine III at Ulm University Hospital on Oberer Eselsberg. The ward is managed by senior physician PD Dr Jochen Klaus and nursing staff Mr Stefan Müller and Ms Julia Rauner (B.sc.).
Patients from the central interdisciplinary emergency department receive medical and nursing care here before being transferred to their specialist ward.
The ward is located in the bed wing of the Medical Clinic at Oberer Eselsberg, level 1, lift C.
The ward doctors are available for individual consultations with patients and relatives as required.

Station M1A
Under the senior medical management of Dr Roza Sabia (focus on endocrinological patients) and Prof. Dr Benjamin Walter (focus on gastroenterological patients), this 20-bed ward focuses on treating patients with endocrinological diseases and diabetes mellitus.
The ward is managed by Mr Stefan Müller and Ms Julia Rauner (B.sc.)
The ward is located in the bed wing of the Medical Clinic at Oberer Eselsberg, level 1, lift C.
The ward doctors are generally available between 13:00 and 16:00 for discussions with patients and relatives.
You should contact the nursing staff in individual cases regarding visiting times. As patients usually have little time in the mornings due to examinations and ward rounds, you should visit your sick relatives or friends between 14:00 and 19:00.
Station M2A
Under the direction of Prof Dr Bernd Schröppel and Dr Lena Schulte-Kemna, this 22-bed ward focuses on treating patients with kidney disease and general internal diseases.
The ward is managed by Mrs Lisa Hauff and Mrs Larissa Franzesko (B.Sc.).
The ward is located in the bed wing of the Medical Clinic at Oberer Eselsberg, level 2, lift C.
The ward doctors can be contacted by appointment between 16:00 and 17:00 for discussions with relatives.
You should contact the nursing staff in individual cases regarding visiting times. As examinations and ward rounds usually take place in the mornings, you should visit your relatives or friends between 14:00 and 19:00.
Station M2B
Under the senior medical management of PD Dr Lukas Perkhofer, this 22-bed ward focuses on treating patients with liver diseases and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
The ward is managed by Mrs Lisa Hauff and Mrs Larissa Franzesko (B.Sc.).
The ward is located in the bed wing of the Medical Clinic at Oberer Eselsberg, level 2, lift C.
The ward doctors are generally available from 16:00 for discussions with patients and relatives.

Station M2C
Under the senior medical management of Prof. Dr. Dr. Patrick Hermann, this 20-bed ward focuses on treating patients with tumours of the gastrointestinal tract or chronic inflammatory bowel diseases.
The ward is managed by Mr Rainer Peuker and Ms Eirini Maria Apostolaki (M.A.) as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes specialist oncology nurses. As well as Ms Sara Peterson (M.sc.) as an APN / nursing expert specialising in oncology
The ward doctors are available for discussions with relatives from 16:00 - 17:00.

Comfort station
Three comfort rooms are available on the M2C ward. The comfort rooms and comfort services can be booked individually for all our patients as single or twin rooms. Find out more about the facilities and the corresponding comfort services: Flyer.

Intermediate care ward M1IMC
Internal Medicine I (Medical Director: Prof. Dr. med. T. Seufferlein) is the organisational head of the joint Intermediate Care Ward of the Department of Internal Medicine I and the Department of Internal Medicine III at Ulm University Hospital on Oberer Eselsberg. The ward is headed by senior physician OA Dr Martin Kächele.
The ward is managed by Mrs Stefanie Niederer (SL) and Mrs Rebecca Wolanyk (SSL).
The IMC is designed for patients whose illness requires a high level of monitoring and care.
The ward is located in the bed wing of the Medical Clinic at Oberer Eselsberg, level 1, lift C.
The ward doctors are available for individual consultations with patients and relatives as required.
You can contact the nursing staff about visiting times in individual cases. As patients usually have little time in the mornings due to examinations and ward rounds, you should visit your sick relatives or friends between 15:30 and 18:00.
