Insemination

Treatment by insemination is useful for couples who wish to have children, if the man has a mild restriction in sperm quality or if no reason can be found. For this purpose, the collected and specially prepared ejaculate is injected directly into the uterine cavity using a thin catheter. Insemination is usually combined with stimulation treatment and ovulation induction in order to find the optimum time for this (see also cycle monitoring and hormonal therapy).

The chances of success here are around 20-25%. As a rule, 50% of the costs are covered by statutory health insurance if the couple is married and the woman is over 25 and under 40 years old and the man is over 25 and under 50 years old.
