Competence centre
Since July 2023, we have been a certified centre of excellence for obesity and metabolic surgery by the DGAV (German Society for General and Visceral Surgery).
General information on obesity
Obesity is a serious and recognised disease that severely restricts the health and quality of life of those affected. Increasing body weight also increases the risk of serious concomitant diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, sleep apnoea and tumours. In order to reduce these health risks, consistent and sustained weight reduction is necessary. A multi-layered obesity therapy therefore includes diet, exercise, behaviour, drug therapy and, if necessary, surgery.
