Many cancer patients would like to see greater consideration given to naturopathic methods in medicine and care. For some of these procedures in medicine and care, such as

- acupuncture
- individual herbal medicines
- dietary supplements
- aromatherapies
have been scientifically proven to have positive effects in terms of quality of life and improvement of symptoms.
Procedure of the consultations:
Patients receive 2-3 comprehensive, free consultations. These consultations, conducted by medical and nursing staff, can cover topics such as
- Nutrition
- exercise
- stress management
- dietary supplements
- external applications
- acupressure etc.

The interprofessional counselling service for complementary medicine and naturopathy in cancer is open to all patients at the CCCU.
AOK insured persons:
- You have been diagnosed with cancer and are interested in / need counselling on complementary medicine and care
- You have been diagnosed with cancer, a recurrence or progression within the last 6 months
- You are at least 18 years old
All other health insurances:
- You have been diagnosed with cancer and are interested in/need counselling on complementary medicine and care
- You were diagnosed with cancer, a recurrence or progression no more than 18 months ago
- You are at least 18 years old

Many cancer patients would like to see greater consideration given to complementary naturopathic methods in medicine and care.
For some naturopathic-complementary procedures in medicine and care, such as
- yoga
- acupuncture
- individual herbal medicines
- dietary supplements
- aromatherapies
have been scientifically proven to have positive effects in terms of quality of life and improvement of symptoms.
However, some of the methods also harbour risks. For example, there are interactions between chemotherapeutic agents and herbal medicines or dietary supplements that are not yet sufficiently well known.
You will receive 2-3 comprehensive, free counselling sessions. These consultations, conducted by medical and nursing staff, can cover topics such as
- nutrition
- exercise
- stress management
- dietary supplements
- external applications
- acupressure etc.
can be discussed.
If possible, the first consultation should be carried out on site, further consultations can take place by telephone or video conference as required.
The consultations are closely orientated to your individual questions and information needs and take into account the latest scientific findings. All consulting doctors and nursing staff have been specially trained in advance.
