Research

The link between the medical management of the Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Günzburg Hospital and the Chair of Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Ulm University Hospital means that research is a high priority at our hospital. Empirical findings on the aetiology, diagnosis and treatment of disorders relevant to the forensic field, as well as findings in connection with prognosis assessments, are not only of great scientific but also of practical importance. Only by working together can the best possible medical and therapeutic care be found for patients, so that the length of their detention or placement can be reduced and criminal recidivism prevented.
