General information on treatment by students in the training clinic

In our training clinic, you have the opportunity to be treated by dental students who have passed the preliminary dental examination. Each treatment step is supervised and controlled by licensed dentists. This means that the treatments take longer than you are used to from your previous visits to the dentist, so you will need to bring a little more time and patience with you.

To compensate for the increased time required, all direct fillings (including dentin-adhesive composite restorations in the posterior region) and all root canal treatments (even when using the operating microscope) will be free of co-payments at the training clinic from 1 January 2019. For other chargeable services (e.g. professional teeth cleaning, ceramic inlays, partial crowns), significantly reduced prices apply. reduced prices.

The range of treatments includes the following measures, using the latest technologies and high-quality medical products:

  • Comprehensive assessment (including caries diagnostics with laser fluorescence)
  • Professional tooth cleaning (including Air-Flow)
  • Fissure sealing
  • Tooth-coloured composite fillings in the anterior and posterior region
  • Ceramic inlays
  • Partial crowns (ceramic, gold)
  • Minimally invasive cavity preparation (sonic instruments, air abrasion)
  • Root canal treatments (surgical microscope, mechanical root canal preparation with highly flexible nickel-titanium instruments, electrical length measurement)
  • Systematic periodontitis therapy

Please note the following information:

  • Treatment operations in the training clinic only run during lecture times and during the state examination. Our pain outpatient clinic is available all year round for emergencies and acute treatment needs.
  • Treatment takes longer than you are used to from previous visits to the dentist, partly due to regular quality checks.
  • If you are unable to keep an agreed appointment, please cancel it in good time. The students have fixed treatment times and appointments cancelled at very short notice cannot usually be rescheduled.
