Management
The "Trauma & STEM" research group focuses on psychological trauma research by integrating advanced methods of data collection and analysis from the STEM fields. By combining prevention and intervention research with modern information processing techniques such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, complex data (such as mobile device usage behaviour, video files, EMA) collected in naturalistic environments will be better understood and utilised. The aim is to improve psychological/psychiatric diagnostics through classification and pattern recognition and to develop new, algorithm-based tools for prevention and intervention. In terms of content, the research is dedicated to the development of children and adolescents after potentially traumatic experiences. One focus is on the investigation of resilience mechanisms, such as regulatory flexibility. The focus is also on investigating the influence of the use of new digital media, the internet and social media, on the development of vulnerable groups of children and adolescents, especially those after stressful life events.
