Hospice Ulm e.V.
Life - Farewell - Death - Comfort - Grief - Life
Outpatient hospice service
The greatest wish of many people is to die in familiar surroundings, surrounded by their family, relatives or friends. The staff at Hospiz Ulm accompany the dying at home on request and support the relatives, providing advice, assisting with the organisation of care and helping with personal discussions.
During an initial visit at home, we discuss what support is needed and what tasks we can take on. Hospiz Ulm sees itself as a supplement to existing assistance, such as outpatient care services.
Night-time sitting watches in nursing homes
On request, we accompany seriously ill, dying people and their relatives in inpatient care facilities.
Agathe Streicher inpatient hospice
Most people hope and wish to die with dignity - preferably at home in familiar surroundings. This is not always possible. Comprehensive nursing and care in a hospice offers an alternative.
The hospice offers a substitute home
- with an atmosphere of personal attention and appreciation
- with holistic care that includes pain therapy, careful nursing and pastoral care
- in cooperation with specialised staff, volunteers and relatives
- by being there for the hospice guests until the end
- with the offer of support for relatives and friends during the time of farewell and mourning
The holistic, attentive and loving treatment and round-the-clock care is provided by well-trained full-time nursing staff, who are supported by volunteers.
Outpatient children's hospice service
It is one of the most difficult fates of all when children are torn away from their families. The Ulm Hospice supports affected families on request. As a rule, the main focus of the trained children's hospice staff is not on the dying child, as it is usually cared for by the parents themselves. The main task of the Ulm hospice is to provide help and care to the affected family. Hospice staff are a source of support and counselling, an anchor point and contact person. The outpatient children's hospice service also provides care when a close carer dies and a child has to cope with unprecedented grief.
Grief counselling
The loss of a loved one changes the lives of the affected relatives and triggers uncertainty and deep grief. During this time in particular, it can be comforting and helpful to find a healing way of dealing with grief. Hospiz Ulm e. V. offers a variety of services for mourners and helps them to deal with their grief in such a way that it can become a life-enhancing force.
Living will
Who will make important decisions for you in an emergency if you are no longer able to express your wishes? In a health care proxy, you name a person who will act on your behalf and in a living will you specify how you wish to be treated and how you do not wish to be treated. Hospiz Ulm provides regular information on the content and legal framework.
Palliative counselling
Palliative counselling can help you to find and make use of the opportunities that exist. This additional service can be requested both by the patient and by all those involved in the care.
