Orthodontics is one of the two dental disciplines in which further training to become a specialist dentist is possible. Obtaining the diploma as a specialist dentist in orthodontics usually takes four years: a general dental year and a subsequent three-year specialist training period. The latter can take place in part at a practice authorised for this purpose by the State Dental Association, but as a rule at least one year of this must be completed at a university institution. Further training is regulated by the regulations of the Baden-Württemberg Dental Association regulated.
The examination to become a specialised dentist takes place at the Baden-Württemberg Dental Association in Stuttgart. The Medical Director of our clinic, Prof Dr Dr Lapatki, is a member of the relevant examination board.
