Invisible brackets on the inner surfaces of the teeth
For more severe malocclusions, "fixed" appliances are often required for optimal correction. These consist mainly of brackets that are bonded to the outer surfaces of the teeth. If you do not want such an appliance to be visible to others, you can opt for so-called lingual treatment, in which brackets are bonded to the inside of the teeth. Unfortunately, statutory health insurance companies do not usually cover the costs of this treatment technique.
In order to minimise the impact of the internal appliance on the tongue, we use systems in which the lingual brackets are individually adapted to the teeth of our patients in order to lie as flat as possible on the teeth. This allows the tongue to get used to the braces relatively quickly.
