On our two gynaecological wards (Gyn 2 and Gyn 3), we care for patients with gynaecological diseases that require inpatient treatment or monitoring as well as after surgery. Our core areas of surgical expertise include breast surgery, incontinence and prolapse operations, gynaecological tumour surgery and minimally invasive surgery. We provide personalised care during your inpatient stay. A team of doctors and nurses is always there for you as a contact partner. If you have non-medical questions and concerns, a wide range of services are available to you - from the social counselling service for questions about rehabilitation measures to psycho-oncological counselling and support and pastoral care.

Inpatient treatment is necessary for certain problems during pregnancy. This is often only necessary for a few days and you can soon be discharged home and continue your outpatient care. In this case, you will usually be allocated a room on the Gyn 3 antenatal ward (our antenatal ward). Here, our obstetric team (doctors and midwives) will provide you with particularly intensive and personalised care. We work closely with the neighbouring paediatric clinic. Our paediatricians will advise you individually and competently. If you wish, you can visit the premature baby ward during your stay. You are also welcome to take part in our breastfeeding counselling sessions.

The first hours and days with your newborn baby are something unique and very special. We want you to experience this time with your baby as harmoniously and carefree as possible. After the birth, we will first care for you in the delivery room and then in our postnatal wards. Here you can recover from the birth. An experienced and competent team of gynaecologists and paediatricians, midwives and nursing staff will look after you during your inpatient stay. You can find detailed information about pregnancy and birth on the obstetrics section website.

Are you planning a major operation? In this case, your doctor will discuss with you before the operation that you will be transferred to the PACU/IMC for monitoring afterwards. This may also be necessary if the operation was more complex than expected. Very rarely, you may also require intensive monitoring before or after the birth due to a high-risk pregnancy.

Specially trained nurses and doctors will look after you in the PACU/IMC. The ward is equipped with six intensive care beds, four of which are single rooms and one double room. The rooms can be accessed from a bright and spacious nursing-doctor unit and can be easily monitored from here. Of course, your relatives can also visit you in the PACU/IMC. However, please understand that visitors may have to wait a little due to ward rounds or examinations.
