The Women's Clinic's study centre offers patients the opportunity to take part in selected clinical studies as part of their treatment. Great progress has been made in recent years, particularly in the field of breast cancer research. Our patients can already benefit from these results by taking part in trials. As one of the largest university women's clinics in Germany, we also carry out studies in the entire field of gynaecology, such as obstetrics, urogynaecology, prenatal diagnostics and other areas.
In addition to conducting clinical studies, as a research university hospital we also actively contribute to basic scientific research. Established working groups conduct research at our clinic. Our scientific focus is particularly on the investigation of circulating tumour cells (DETECT studies), the vascularisation of malignant tumours, the basic scientific and application-related investigation of DNA repair mechanisms and the investigation of early childhood factors on later development.
