The neurofibromatosis outpatient clinic brings together all the different departments required for the diagnosis and treatment of specialised neurofibromatosis under one roof at a fixed time. Patients with both neurofibromatosis type 1 (Recklinghausen's disease) and neurofibromatosis type 2 can therefore be seen, examined and advised by all the necessary specialists on the same day. This facility is unique in southern Germany, as it allows diagnostic and therapeutic measures to be coordinated between the individual specialist departments. Accordingly, necessary instrumental examinations and therapeutic measures are recommended to the referring doctors and can then be carried out close to home or in the respective specialist departments at Ulm University Hospital.
