Project description

The aim of the project is the development, ongoing evaluation and optimisation of an internet-based instrument for determining the achievement of educational goals in (partial) residential youth care. This tool ('PädZi') is intended to offer the possibility of recording and documenting information for each participating child/young person or young adult that is relevant for the planning, implementation and monitoring of assistance and measures. The tool is intended to support social education professionals in structuring help processes, promoting participation and transparency and thus contributing to the quality assurance of youth welfare measures.

The 'PädZi' tool was developed in close cooperation with the CJD (Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Deutschland e.V.) and contains questionnaires for formulating and reviewing individual goals, for recording social skills, health-related quality of life, emotional and behavioural problems and client satisfaction, as well as evaluation functions at individual and group level. The feasibility and practical suitability of 'PädZi' in everyday educational practice was demonstrated in a pilot project. Subsequently, 'PädZi' was introduced as a quality assurance tool in child and youth welfare centres in the CJD throughout Germany. Training courses for social education professionals and expert workshops are held regularly to further develop and optimise the tool. Data on the achievement of objectives and the effectiveness of the measures implemented at centre and provider level are regularly evaluated and scientifically published.
