Background
Communication problems in child protection, such as those that came to light in the "Staufen" abuse case, are often based on differing ideas between the numerous professions involved in the child protection process. It is therefore necessary to create a common language and a common knowledge and working basis in child protection through interdisciplinary training.
The aim of this project is therefore to create a common basis of basic knowledge in interprofessional child protection for professionals from the judiciary, youth welfare and medicine, as well as for members of the police and probation services in Baden-Württemberg.
Project description
The website "Basic knowledge of child protection in Baden-Württemberg" provides content in a basic module and two subsequent, coordinated in-depth modules specific to the professional field ("Law and justice", "Youth welfare, health and social affairs") for professionals from the judiciary, youth welfare and medicine as well as for members of the police and probation service.
These are based on successfully developed and positively evaluated e-learning courses at Ulm University Hospital, basic knowledge in child protection, in particular on the subject of sexual abuse, but also on early help in cases of neglect and abuse.
The three modules will be evaluated in an accompanying research design and revised on this basis.
If you are interested in taking part in the online course, you can register free of charge until 30 June 2024 at the following link:
