Become an emergency paramedic!

The highest non-academic qualification in the rescue service.

In cooperation with the DRK Rettungsdienst Heidenheim-Ulm gGmbH, Ulm University Hospital offers a three-year vocational training programme to become an emergency paramedic. As part of the practical training, students are deployed in the areas of anaesthesia, paediatrics, gynaecology, intensive care, general care and the central emergency department at Ulm University Hospital. Our aim is to recruit emergency paramedics for areas such as the Central Emergency Department or the Intensive Care Unit at Ulm University Hospital after they have completed their training.

 

Why train to become an emergency paramedic?

You should have these requirements

  • Secondary school leaving certificate (or equivalent)
  • or lower secondary school leaving certificate(or equivalent) and have completed at least two years of training
  • Health and physical aptitude
  • Written and spoken command of the German language
  • Extended police clearance certificate without entry
  • Enjoy working with people and an interest in working independently
  • Flexibility in working hours with willingness to work shifts

 

Start of training

Training starts on two dates per year: 1 April and 1 October

The application deadline is 15 February for both the start of training in October of the same year and the start in April of the following year.

 

How can you apply to us?
What do we need?

  • For the emergency paramedic application, we need a cover letter, a CV, your most recent school reports and, if applicable, certificates of completed vocational training. If you already have a car or truck driving licence, you can indicate this.
  • In your cover letter, please briefly describe why you would like to become an emergency paramedic.
  • If you are involved in clubs or sports, we are also interested in this. If you have already had contact with the emergency services or have completed an FSJ in a social organisation, we would also be delighted to hear from you!
