Lung MRI

Contact: Hanna Frantz, M. Sc. (Physics)

Lung imaging by MRI is in particular difficult due to low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) caused by low proton density and rapid signal decay, and by cardiac and respiratory motion. In this context, we develop new methods for:

  • self gating methods to track respiratory movements, correct motion artifacts and improve image quality
  • functional imaging of the lung, with and without contrast agent
