Co-Design of a mentalization-based Mobile Game Prototype for burdened parents

Project description

In this project, a mentalization-based mobile game prototype will be developed with and for parents from socially disadvantaged backgrounds that are at risk or are already suffering from mental health problems. This mobile game prototype aims to train the parent’s ability to mentalize their children, i.e. to improve their skills to think about their children’s mental states underlying their behaviour and to react in a way to support their children in their needs. By improving the ability of the parents to mentalize, parental stress can be reduced and family function can be improved. The game prototype will be developed and tested in a co-design process involving parents from different backgrounds that will be recruited from urban and surrounding areas around Ulm.
