The ever-increasing economic demands in the field of trauma care and research pose a significant challenge to academic life in Germany and around the world. In response, we have formed a cutting-edge group of inter- and transdisciplinary experts to introduce the innovative field of trauma-economy. We scientifically address and transfer management principles to optimize processes in research and clinical care. A focus is set on perioperative processing times, effective knowledge-management strategies, and principles of economic ethics. By streamlining research processes, we anticipate gaining new insights that will drive advancements in efficient and effective trauma research and care, ultimately benefiting patients globally.
